Wayne Andrew Irwin, 79, was surrounded by his family as he made his journey home to God’s kingdom on September 30, 2018. Wayne was known to many as a Christian poet. He drew them to the Lord with his raw, honest words about overcoming sin, the splendor of Heaven, his family and Western Colorado. Wayne invented the game “Watergate”, after the Nixon scandal. He mined uranium for the cold war. Wayne was a captain in the Air Force. He helped build the Crystal and Morrow Point Dams. Wayne was a noted assayer and developed a formula for recovering gold and precious minerals from dirt in the Dead Sea to Montrose and all areas in between. He spent countless hours on the ball fields coaching and mentoring his kids and many others. He was a true example of integrity and honesty.
