Wanda Marian Ewing

An uncommon obituary for an uncommon woman…. Wanda Marian Ewing, the second of four children, was born December 13, 1923 in Bowsemont, North Dakota to “Duff” and Lizzie Somers.  She never really spoke much about her growing up years;  but, did marry the one true love of her life, Eddie.  They had two great kids, Jan and Toby…but, never a great marriage.  It ended in divorce, and those that knew her said that relationship changed her. She “loved” us the way she knew how…and those that knew her best and still loved her described her this way…witty, determined, mean, insecure, strong, generous, harsh, straightforward, caustic, unforgiving, funny, resentful, a good friend, hardworking, loyal, wounded, fearful and sad.  Isn’t it interesting that she embodied the very best and worse in each of us? She did win the final battle!!!

Private services for the family will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
