Wanda Faye Brown, 82, of Montrose, Colorado passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on July 3rd, 2024.
She was born April 5th,1942 in Miami, Oklahoma, to Velma (Colvin) Stapleton and Delmar Faye Stapleton. She grew up in Commerce, Oklahoma, where she later met and married her husband of 64 years, Leon Brown. They later moved to Arkansas where they raised their family. Wanda worked at “The House of Webster” in Rogers, Arkansas for 28 years. After retiring her and Leon moved to Purdy, Missouri to be closer to family. There Wanda enjoyed doing part time work at various places, just to keep busy. When her family moved to Colorado, in 2018 her and Leon moved with them. Her last place of employment was “Culvers” in Montrose, Colorado, where she enjoyed meeting and visiting with all the patrons.
She loved spending time with her family, playing games, embroidery, and coming together over a meal, especially Sunday dinner. She loved the Lord with all her heart and attended church faithfully.
Wanda is proceeded in death by her parents and one sister, Vivian McAfee. She is survived by her husband, Leon Brown, of the home, her daughter, Melissa Fletcher and son-in-law, Charles Fletcher, of Montrose, Colorado, a son, Randy Brown, of Reeds, Missouri, one sister, Ilene Jones, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two brothers, Raymond Stapleton, of Fairview, Missouri, and Harley Stapleton of Cassville, Missouri, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
