Virginia Barbara Jean Cordova, age 69, of Montrose passed away April 3, 2018 at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Virginia was born December 17, 1948 to Peter J. and Annastasia Elizabeth (Schell) Bosgal in Montrose, where she was raised and received her education. Virginia married Charles David Cordova on June 24, 1966 in Montrose and where they made their home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Virginia and Chuck had also resided in Elgin, Illinois and Johnston, Colorado before returning to Montrose where they made their home until Virginia’s time of death. They were members of St. Mary Catholic Church. Much of their time was spent with their children, and grandchildren. They raised their children in the eyes of God, and the children remember so much being raised the way they were, with such love and affection for their family.
Surviving family members include Virginia’s husband, Chuck, of the family home in Montrose; two sons, James Charles Cordova of Elizabeth, Co., and Sonny Michael Cordova of Colorado Springs, Co; one daughter, Amy Michele Cordova of Castle Rock, Co; and one sister Lillian Canavan of Montrose; eight grandchildren; Bretney, Chelsey, Katie, Rachel, Haley, Thomas, Sarah, Andrew and two great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Pete Bosgal, Raymond Bosgal and Clarence Bosgal and one sister Marge Weber.
A vigil and rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. P.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel and a Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will take place at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. A reception for family and friends will follow the graveside service in the Parish Hall at St. Mary Catholic Church.
