Uleta Fisk Hopkins, of Olathe, Colorado passed away February 22, 2016 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, at the age of 79.  Uleta was born September 14, 1936 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.  In 1946 and the age of 10, her family moved to Olathe, and she graduated as Valedictorian from the Olathe High School in 1954.  Uleta met Leon L. Hopkins, and they were married December 31, 1955 in Fort Collins, Colorado.  They were married 54 years before his passing on July 24, 2010. She attended college at the Colorado State University, then to Wisconsin University and finished at Texas Tech University.  Uleta worked for many years as a Newspaper Composition Supervisor in Rockville, Maryland and then as a Medical Records Transcriber in Norwood, Colorado, before her retirement.

Uleta was a member of the Church of God.  The love of her life was her family.  She enjoyed classical music and loved to travel.  Uleta spent 12 years near Norwood, and 18 years near Montrose before moving to Delta in 2012 where she made her home until she became a resident of Colorow Care Center in Olathe.

Her loving family included; Daughters Michelle Smith (Gary) of Delta, Ariane N. Hopkins (Tony Rose) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Shana Hopkins Thompson (Paul) of Seattle, Washington; Grandchildren ESN Christopher H. Smith, USN (Hannah) of Silverdale, Washington, Gregory H. Smith of Farmington, New Mexico, Kathleen J. Smith of Delta, Jonathan D. Smith of Delta.  Uleta was preceded in death by her husband Leon L. Hopkins; son Glen L. Hopkins, grandchild Klaus Hopkins Thompson, her parents N. Marion Fisk & Sylvia E. (Duggar) Fisk of Olathe, and grandparents D. Fisk and Mabel (Roberts) Fisk of Olathe.

Memorial gifts can be made to either CurePSP.org or your local PBS station.  A Memorial Service in celebration of Uleta’s life will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 1250 Pioneer Road, Delta, with Pastor James Conley officiating.  A reception lunch will follow. Condolences may also be sent to the family at www.crippinfuneralhome.com.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
