Trinidad “Trino” Morales
February 15, 1922 ~ March 30, 3014
Trinidad Morales, age 92, of Montrose, Colorado passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at San Juan Living Center in Montrose. He was born February 15, 1922 in Los Angeles, California. He was the son of Fransico Morales and Inez Bermudez. Trino spent his early years working with family as a trapeze artist and acrobats for Ringling Bros. Circus. In 1944 he married Lillie Martinez in Montrose, Colorado. Trino and Lillie had six sons and five daughters; Patsy (Bill) Quintana of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Manuel Morales, Trini Morales of Denver, Colorado; Mardell (Phil) Trujillo of Montrose, Colorado; Gloria Morales of Montrose, Colorado; Gene (Carol) Morales of Edmund, Oklahoma; Barbara Morales; Leroy Morales of Montrose, Colorado; Elaine (Del) Magdaleno of Gunnison, Colorado; Lloyd Morales, Dale Morales of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Trino is also survived by three brothers, Joe of Ely, Nevada; Frank of Del Norte, Colorado and Anthony of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Ester Ocutte of Amarillo, Texas, Mary Lopez of Del Norte, Colorado, Ruth Randal of Thornton, Colorado and Marcella Chavez of Center, Colorado; 36 grandchildren, 48 great-children and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Trino loved life, and always a quick with a ‘hello’ and a hug for everyone. It is said he never knew a stranger. His hobbies include music, singing, dancing, playing his guitar, piano or organ. His jovial nature was contagious. He was an avid hunter, enjoying all that Colorado had to offer. He took great pride in his marksmanship. His children all shared the belief that he was the best ever! His greatest joy was his family. He loved sharing stories of his youth. He was very proud of his family. Trino will be forever missed and never forgotten.
Trino was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Manuel and Lloyd, his daughter Barbara; his brothers Manuel and Moses, two granddaughters, Cynthia and Audra and one grandson Jesse.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Trino’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:00pm at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow the service and Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
