Theresa Claudina Leyva passed away on June 7, 2016 in the comforts of her home in Montrose, Colorado. Theresa was born September 4, 1946 in Alamosa, Colorado to Ruben and Elisa (Gallegos) Arellano. Theresa met and married the love of her life Manuel Leyva in Greenriver, Utah on October 31, 1982. Theresa enjoyed listening to gospel bluegrass music, yard sales, but above all she loved her children and her beloved grandchildren.

Theresa is survived by her husband Manuel Leyva of Montrose, CO; her sons Gary Ortega of Montrose, CO, David Ortega of Montrose, CO, Jonathan (Manuela) Najar of Montrose, CO, Paul Quezada of Montrose, CO; her daughter Pollie (Cody) Bailey of Fruita, CO; one brother Daniel (Patty) Arellano of Montrose, CO; two sisters Mary Archuleta of Grand Junction, CO, Elva (Kenny) Leonardo of Durango, CO; and 5 grandchildren.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents Elisa and Ruben Arellano, her son Augie Ortega, and two brothers Toby Arellano and Augustine Gallegos.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nora, Vonnie, Amesia, and Jude of HopeWest Hospice. We really appreciate everything you did for our Mom and our family.

There will be a Graveside Service for Theresa at Grand View Cemetery on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice at 725 4th Street, Montrose, CO 81401. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Grand View Cemetery.
