On Thursday, February 20, 2020, Teri Lynn Smith, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 72 at the Hope West Care Center in Grand Junction Colorado.
Teri was born on June 17, 1947, to Murray and Mabel Gammill in Monte Vista Colorado. Shortly after, they moved to Salida Colorado where she grew up and later graduated from Salida High School. They moved to Montrose where Teri was a nurse for many years, for a variety of places, Montrose Memorial Hospital, County Nursing, and Valley Manner. She ended her nursing career working at Head Start for the Montrose County School District. Teri’s gentle and caring personality made her a wonderful and compassionate nurse. She loved helping people.
Teri and Norwin raised two sons, Brian and Kevin. She enjoyed watching them play baseball, soccer and basketball. Teri had a love of gardening and taking care of her beloved dogs. You could often find her outside tending to her gardens and walking her dogs in the park. She also enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren. Teri’s face would light up when she spent time with them.
Teri is survived by her husband Norwin of Montrose Colorado. Her sons, Brian (Sarah) Smith of Fort Collins Colorado, Kevin (Jennifer) Smith of Montrose Colorado along with her four grandchildren Mason, Anna, Natalie and Collin. She will be remembered by her many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Murray and Mabel Gammill.
