Tamara “Tami” Sitton

July 12, 1958 ~ December 31, 2016

Tamara “Tami” Sitton (Davis) went to meet Jesus, surrounded by her family, on Dec. 31st in Montrose CO at the age of 58.

Tami is survived by her husband Donald Sitton of Montrose; children: Nathan Sitton of Grand Junction, Teresa Atwood (Huber Ortega) of Rifle, Crystal Nething (Josh Nething) of Montrose, Jeremy Sitton (Kendra Sitton) of Montrose; siblings: Clinton Davis of Montrose, Dean Davis (Bonnie Davis) of Grand Junction, Judy Turner (Wendall Turner) of Montrose, Terry Davis (Colleen Davis) of Rifle; grandchildren: Kayla, Julya, Leo, Eli, Ethan, Everett, Brody, and Brayden. Tami is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Norma Davis of Montrose, sister Virginia Beaver of Arkansas.

Tami was born on July 12th, 1958 in Delta CO to Archie and Norma Davis. She graduated from Delta High School in 1976. She married Donald Sitton, her college sweetheart on May 20th 1978. The couple welcomed 3 children into their home. Her children remember her as a strong woman of God who loved unconditionally, was patient, gentle, kind, and lived her live entirely for Jesus.

Tami was remembered by many for her time at Montrose High School as smiling face, a shoulder to cry on, a loving person to talk to, and a great friend. It has been a gift for all of us to have had Tami Sitton as a friend, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma (Nana), and sister. If we are lucky, every once in a while, someone comes into our lives that genuinely gives us a glimpse into what eternal joy might be. Tami’s example of a God loving person should soften the cynicism of the most entrenched skeptics. She certainly did not just find her faith at the end of her life when her circumstances were unbearable, or when her hardships created a need for comfort and answers – therefore pushing her toward an antiquated concept to bring her peace. Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing Tami has been touched by her genuine, authentic, closeness to our Heavenly Father and her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her kindness, unconditional love, and Christ-like example spoke volumes, without Tami needing to say a word. She was the real deal! She just lived it.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Thursday Jan 5th at 5:00 pm at Montrose Christian Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tami’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the ALS Association at 10855 Dover St Ste 500 Westminister, CO 80021.
