Susan M. King Obituary

Susan Mary King of Montrose, passed away on Saturday, February 8, at the age of 88. Sue was a retired educator, who impacted countless families in her community as a kindergarten teacher at Oak Grove Elementary for 29 years and was a Montrose resident for 58 years. 

Sue was born on March 28, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Henry and Anita Conroy. She graduated from St. Katherine's College in Minneapolis and soon after married John W. King on October 4, 1958. 

Sue loved to read and engage with her community. She treasured her role as an educator, and her influence continues on in the lives of every child she taught. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anita Conroy; her husband, John W. King; and her grandson, Douglas King. 

Sue is survived by her four children, Mary Ancell (Robert) of Las Vegas, NV; Stephanie Stone (Gary) of Colorado Springs, CO; Linda Brownlee (Eric) of Pasadena, MD; and John King (Tina) of Las Vegas, NV; ten grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
