Susan Jean Wilson, age 61, of Placerville, Colorado, passed away January 12, 2015 at her son’s home in Montrose.  Susan was born May 31, 1953 to Robert ‘Bud’ and Florence (Engelke) Gerke in Burlington, Colorado.  She attended high school in Burlington and graduated in Longmont, Colorado.  Susan married Gerald Dean Wilson October 6, 1993 in Montrose.  She was previously married her children’s father Verlin Ray Williams.

Susan and Gerald resided in Placerville since 1993  she was a resident of Montrose from 1981 to 1993.  Prior to Montrose she had lived in Burlington and Longmont.  Susan was employed as San Miguel County Clerk of Courts for 16 years prior to her retirement.  She was of the Lutheran faith and family was her utmost priority, and enjoyed spending time with friends.  Susan enjoyed the outdoors and taking in the mountain scenery and jeeping.

Susan is survived by her husband, Gerald Wilson of the family home in Placerville; two sons, Cory Williams of Montrose and Kacy Williams of Grand Junction, Colorado; one daughter, Kara Donovan of Grand Junction, Colorado; a sister, Joyce Brown of Cheraw, Colorado; and eight grandchildren, Tyler, Nikki, Tressie, Steven, Destiny, Ashlynn, Emily and Liam.  Susan was preceded in death by her parents Robert ‘Bud’ and Florence Gerke.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel in Montrose.  Interment will follow the service at Lone Tree Cemetery in Telluride at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
