Steven Scott Mccarthy

Steven Scott McCarthy, age 60, of Montrose, Colorado passed away on December 11, 2018 at St. Marys Hospital, in Grand Junction, Colorado after a long battle with diabetes. He was born in Ramsey, NJ and after graduating from high school he served briefly in the U.S. Navy. He relocated to Colorado in 1983 where he attended Colorado Mountain College, achieving an Associates Degree in Forestry. Steven was a seismic surveyor and his greatest passion was skiing at Telluride.

Mr. McCarthy is survived by his loving mother, Roberta McCarthy of Palm coast FL, brothers, Brian of TN, Kevin of DE, and sister Susan of FL. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gerard McCarthy in 2007. Steven will be inurned at Dallas Park Cemetery in Ridgway, CO in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Crippin Funeral Home.
