Shirley Ann Lasher, age 79, of Montrose passed away July 3, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Shirley was born November 26, 1938 To Harold William and Eva J. (Anderson) Thompson in Fort Duchesne, Utah. She spent her childhood and received her education in Duchesne. Shirley married Lloyd William Lasher in June 1966 in Talmage, Utah. He preceded her in death in June 2000 in Montrose.
Shirley loved gardening and yard work, and enjoyed camping, fishing & hunting. She loved spending time crocheting, quilting, cooking and baking. We will always remember our mom and grandma for her loving and caring heart and strength. She was always there for others in kindness and compassion. Her family was her everything and she watched us all grow with pride in her heart.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, two brothers Max Thompson, Marvin Thompson and his wife Lorna Thompson, an infant daughter Sherry Lynn Ortega, a son Verney Ortega and his wife Betty, daughter in-law Brenda Lasher and grandsons Jason Lee Lasher, B.J. Steele and Anthony Ortega.
Survivors include her sons, Lonnie Lasher and Roque (Tammy) Lasher all of Montrose; daughters Debbie Brown of Olathe, CO, Tammy (Lane) Brown of Delta, CO, one brother Rex (Jane) Thompson of Neola, Utah; sister-in-law Darlene Thompson of Talmage, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
