Sally B. Zandbergs
April 21, 1925 ~ October 14, 2017
Sally went home at the age of 92 on October 14, 2017. She was born and raised in Menominee, Wisconsin to Katharine Luse and Henry William Becker. Sally graduated from Carleton College in Minnesota and later moved to Southern California.
Sally met her husband, Gunars on a blind date and last month celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. They relocated to Littleton, Colorado in 1972 where they continued to raise their three children, Gayle Gaul of Centennial, Colorado, Julie Hamilton of Kerrville, Texas and their son, Jeffrey Zandbergs of Cupertino, California. Other family that loved her and will miss here, are her daughter-in-law Monir; granddaughters, Jessica Bailey, Larissa Gaul, grandson Kalon Zandbergs, great-grandson Pierce Bailey and other Becker relatives.
Sally was a loyal and fun-loving friend whose sharp wit and sense of humor attracted and kept many friends. Her children remember the trips to Disneyland, knots Berry Farm, camping and her doing the jitterbug, along with the drive-in movies with the shopping bag of popcorn made at home. She loved to read and was a stickler for proper grammar. She played bridge on her 90th birthday which she’s enjoyed for many years. Sally loved her family with a sacrificial love. A true woman of strength, integrity and generosity. She is preceded in death by her only brother, John Becker.
Memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice. 725 S. 4th Street, Montrose, Co. 81401, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
