Ruby H. Inman (Brady)

March 24, 1921 — December 1, 2017

Ruby H. Inman
On December 1, 2017 at Brookdale Sunrise Creek, Montrose, Colorado, Ruby Inman went to her homecoming with her Lord and Savior. Ruby Inman was born March 24, 1921 at home in Montrose, Colorado to Walter and Charlotte (Hubbard) Brady. She was the second born and only girl of their five children. She attended several rural schools in the Montrose area and Montrose High School. She often spoke of how cold it was to ride horses to school; when she was eight, her father paid some older boys with a wagon to take her and her brothers to school. One of the boys, Dan “Bunk” Inman, would later become her husband.
Ruby and Dan were married on September 2, 1939 in Delta, Colorado. They were married for 69 years when Dan passed away in 2008. Ruby and Dan had four children Thelma Caddy, Barbara Franks, Danny (Sandy) Inman and Donna Bess all of Montrose. They were blessed with six grandchildren: Cinda Caddy (Tim) Ewing, Lauri Franks (Jeff) Pence, Tracy Inman (Jody) Smith, Darin Bess (Sarah), Tina Inman (Travis) Rowley, and Charlissa Bess (Jon) Rose. In addition, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild are part of the family. Other family members who preceded her in death are: daughter Barbara Franks, brothers Chuck, Roy, Vic and Russ, and son-in-law Don Caddy.
Ruby became a member of Christ Church of the Valley in 2009; prior to that, she was a member of Montrose Christian Church for over 60 years. One of Ruby’s spiritual gifts was compassion and she used that gift helping with funeral dinners at Montrose Christian Church for 50 years. Hospitality was another spiritual gift; Dan and Ruby’s home was often the gathering place for family and friends. Ruby was a great baker and she always made sure she had some kind of goodies to share with family and friends.
Ruby was a devoted wife and mother, but her first devotion was to God. She had read the entire Bible numerous times; although her eyes were failing, she was reading through it again this year. She lived her life as she thought Christ would want her to live and always had a smile and thankful heart.
The family is grateful for the care she received from the staff at Brookdale Sunrise Creek and the caregivers and volunteers from Hope West. Each of you made such a difference in the quality of her life.
Services will be at Christ Church of the Valley on December 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with internment at Grand View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope West. Crippin Funeral Home of Montrose is assisting the family.
