Roy Allen Williams, age 58, of Montrose died January 12, 2015.  Roy was born Dec. 27, 1956 to Carl David and Lucy Florence (Hyde) Williams in Grand Junction, Colorado.  He spent his childhood on the western slope, and graduated high school at Sandia View Academy in New Mexico.  He was previously married to the children’s mother, Jody Swallow.

Roy loved the outdoors and the mountains surrounding where he lived.  Hunting and fishing were a time well spent.  He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and they were very special to him.  Roy enjoyed working on his scout.

Surviving family members include his two sons, Benjamin Williams of Grand Junction, Colorado and Cory and wife Kendra Williams of Parachute, Colorado; one brother, David and wife (Jeanne) Williams of Paradox, Colorado; two sisters, Joy Garrido of Aliso Viejo, California and Judy Cardona of Washington; and four grandchildren, Brenden, Brant Williams, and Ella and Harper Williams  Roy was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Kimberly Williams.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Roy’s life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at The Paradox Community Center.  Inurnment of cremains will follow at a later date in Nucla Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
