Rosalie (Rosie) Cohenour

April 29, 1934 — December 23, 2024

Montrose

Rosalie (Rosie) Cohenour passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024 in Montrose, Colorado. She was 90 years old.

Rosie was born in 1934 as the “oldest by five minutes” half of the first set of twins born that year at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. She grew up in the Bailey, Colorado area where she attended and graduated from a one-room schoolhouse. She worked as a waitress at the former Rustic Inn Cafe in Bailey where she met, and later married, Fay M. (Bud) Cohenour in 1954. Rosie and Bud lived in Littleton, Colorado until they moved to Montrose in 1995. In Montrose she joined the local group “Montrose Caring Clowns” and enjoyed clowning for several years. She enjoyed making holiday treats. Friends and family looked forward to receiving the exceptional peanut brittle and Christmas tree shaped popcorn balls she loved to share.

Rosalie is survived by her son Kevin Cohenour; granddaughters Heather, Colleen, and Kaitlyn; and great-grandchildren Emma, Ryder, Kaiden, Kara, and Teagan. Rosie was preceded in death by her father John, mother Lavona, brothers Gene and Dale, twin-sister Rosemarie, several half-sisters and half-brothers, and husband Bud.

Rosalie’s wishes are for her remains to be cremated and interred in Denver alongside her husband Bud. A celebration of life service will be held in her honor with the time and date to be announced.
