Roger Scott Brown

d. October 22, 2019

Roger Scott Brown, 73, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Roger was born in Lynn, MA to Ralph and Clara (Eaton) Brown in June of 1946. He grew up on Boston’s North Shore, graduating from Saugus High School in 1964. He attended Franklin Institute in Boston for automotive technology after high school, finishing in 1966. He was in the Air Force Air National Guard. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna (Dickson) in 1968. Of this marriage, 2 children were born, Karen and Jason. Roger and Donna parted ways after 10 years of marriage, and he focused on his career for several years. Roger later met the love of his life, Cecilia (CeCe) (Bashant); They married in 1984, and were to celebrate 35 years of marriage at the end of this year. Roger also became stepfather to CeCe’s sons, John and Michael.

Roger lived a full life, surrounded by family, friends and his beloved pups. So many dogs helped fill his heart over the years, making life happier for him and CeCe. Roger and CeCe relocated to the Western Slope of CO nearly 20 years ago, following a dream and his son, Jason. Jason and his father were very close, and bonded over a mutual love of everything automotive, taking things apart & putting them back together. Roger & CeCe had a Jeep touring business out of Ouray when they first moved to CO. Later, they moved to Montrose to be closer to family. He loved taking Abe & Molly to the dog park with CeCe and being able to go to the gym every day.

Roger leaves his loving wife of nearly 35 years, CeCe; also his children, Karen (Fanning) and Jason; stepsons John Bashant and Michael Bashant; grandchildren Jessica Brown, Gavin Brown, Gabrielle Brown; beloved furbabies Abe and Molly; and many friends made living here in the beautiful San Juan mountains in Colorado.

Crippin Funeral Home has assisted the family with final arrangements. There will be no services or visitation at this time. For those wishing to make a donation in Roger’s memory, please consider Second Chance Animal Shelter in Ridgway or the Montrose Animal Shelter in Montrose.
