Rocky Samuel Fister

In Loving Memory

On Tuesday April 9th, 2019, Rocky Samuel Fister, loving husband and father of four, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 67.

Rocky was born on October 26, 1951 in Montrose, CO to William and Rosa Fister (Mosher). He grew up in Olathe, CO and attended Olathe High School. Through Rocky’s career he helped build some of Colorado’s well-known landmarks. (Crystal dam, Eisenhower tunnel, Silver Jack dam, & Ridgway Reservoir).

On October 3rd, 1970, Rocky married his lifelong sweet heart Marlene A. Holbrook in Buena Vista Colorado. They made their home in Olathe Colorado and raised two sons, Christopher and Andrew, and two daughters, Amy and Donna.

Rocky loved the great outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Rocky will be dearly missed by his family and friends and anyone who had the honor of knowing him.

Rocky was preceded in death by his wife Marlene and son Christopher, his parents, and sister Doris (Toot). Rocky is survived by his two daughters, Amy (Terry) Ray and Donna Lawrence(Todd Brown); son Andy (Kristina) Fister; all of Montrose; fourteen grandkids; five great grandkids; two brother’s Glen (Joanie) Fister and Jim Fister; and three sisters, Glenda Lee Smith(Kevin Jones), Cindy (Bruce) Valdez, Lida Tomai, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m, Monday, April 15th, 2019, at Grace Community Church in Montrose; concluding with a “potluck” style brunch following the service. Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose is assisting the family.
