Robert L Jones

Robert (Bob) L. Jones, 90, died peacefully on December 8, 2018, at his home in Montrose, Colorado.  He was born on April 10, 1928, in Maxwell, California to Giles and Neita (Kennedy) Jones.  He grew up in Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School.

Bob served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was an active member of the Elks and the Masons.  His working career included grocery store owner, butcher, truck driver, cowboy and he worked for 27 years in the gas production industry with Questar (Mountain Fuel).  He resided in Maxwell, CA; Maybell, CO; Vernal, UT; Grand Junction, CO; Rock Springs, WY and  has lived the last 28 years in Montrose, CO, with his loving wife, Donna (Carrico) Jones.  Survivors include his wife, Donna, and children, Janet Howell, Carol Troglia, Ron Jones and Shawn Miklich, six grand-children and seven great-grand-children.

He enjoyed camping, wood working, square dancing, reading and volunteering at his church.  Bob will be missed by all those who knew him.  Services will be held at the Olathe United Methodist Church in Olathe, Colorado on Friday, December 14, 2018.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hope West Hospice of Montrose, Olathe United Methodist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association of Grand Junction.  (Internment will be held at a later date.)
