Richard ‘Allen’ Culver
April 10, 1948 – August 8, 2018

Richard ‘Allen’ Culver, of Montrose, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 8, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.

Allen was born on April 10, 1948, to Dick and Marcella Culver. He spent his childhood years in the West End area of Colorado with his younger brother, Roger. Allen was in the graduating class of 1966 at the original Norwood High School. A very good athlete, he lettered in four different sports at the school.

Allen worked for the Electrical Co-Op his whole life, starting his career with Colorado Ute in 1967, San Miguel Power Association, and then Reliable Power before retiring in 2010.

Allen is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jackie, who was his High School sweetheart, his son Brent (Lana) and his two loving granddaughters Janel and Kali, daughter-in-law Deborah, his brother Roger (Mary), brother-in-law Frank White, sister-in-law Melissa Bray, brother-in-law Jeff White, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Bradley Culver.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, at Montrose Christian Church on Sunnyside. The service will conclude at the church. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
