Reva Jane Hopkins, age 93, of Montrose, Co. went home on June 17, 2015.  Reva was born May 2, 1922 to George Roscoe and Nancy May (King) Lovingood in Delta, Colorado. She spent her childhood in Delta and Ouray, and graduated from high school in Silverton, Colorado.  Reva went on to college, receiving her Bachelor of Arts at Western State in Gunnison, Colorado. She married Marion N. “Hop” Hopkins in March 17, 1960 in Egnar, Colorado.  Hop has preceded Reva in death on July 1, 2006 in Montrose.

Reva was a member of Mt. Hayden #53 Rebekah Lodge of Ouray, lifetime member of  Silver Star #40, Order of The Eastern Star. and member of the V.F.W. Women’s Auxillary.

Surviving family members include her two sons, George Lawrence of Talkeetna, Alaska; and Verne “Dee” (Sue) Kelly of Silverton; one daughter Sharon Lee Smith of Montrose; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Reva was preceded in death by her brother George Roscoe Lovingood and a sister Roxilea Daguerre.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Reva’s life will be held on Friday, June 26, at 1:00 P.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.  The service will conclude at the Chapel.  A private family inurnment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ouray, Colorado.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Co. 81402 or Welcome Home Montrose, 11 South Park, Suite A, Montrose, Co. 81401.  A celebration and remembrance of Reva’s life will be held in a potluck picnic to be announced at a later date.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
