Ralph Eugene Leonard, age 87, a lifelong Montrose resident

passed away July 25, 2015 at his home. Ralph was born

December 31, 1927 to Robert W. and Lola Mae (Summers)

Leonard in Montrose. His family homesteaded in Montrose in

1882, where Ralph made his home until his time of death. Here

he spent his childhood and graduated from Montrose High

School.

At age 18, Ralph served his country in the United States Army

during World War II, from Apr. 1946 until Jan. 1951 when he was

honorably discharged. He returned to Montrose and went on to

college at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado

graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture.

Ralph enjoyed the great outdoors, agriculture and the

mountains. He was a rancher and sheepherder, for many years

prior to his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Wool

Growers Association, and enjoyed reading, skiing, traveling and

having a good time. A favorite pastime was golfing and spending

time with family.

Surviving family members are his children Randy (Penny)Leonard

of Montrose and their children, Justin Leonard and Ashley (Kyle)

Avery; of Montrose, daughters, Lynette (Gary) Bean of Montrose

and their children, Tisha (Jake) Bean Wilcox, Arvada, CO and

Chayson Bean, North Hollywood, CA; Rona Brennan Lewis ( Bud)

of Parker, CO and children Calen Brennan and Taryn Brennan,

also of Denver. Paula Adamson (Tim Tyrrell) of Scottsdale, AZ and

her children, Seth Adamson, Denver, Co and Andrew Adamson,

Phoenix, AZ. and two great-grandchildren Hunter Wilcox and

Colton Avery. Ralph was preceded in death by his

parents Robert & Lola Leonard, his brother John Leonard and his

sisters, Ruth Keck, Mary Baggett, Grace Yocum, Lucille Masden

and Lorraine Leonard.

on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Crippin Funeral Home

Chapel with Jim Kershner officiating. The Service will conclude

at the Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
