Phyllis Louise Kinney (Caddy)

b. October 11, 1936

Phyllis Louise Kinney was born October 11,1936 to John and Vada Caddy in Ridgeway, Colorado. She grew up on their farm with brother Harold. She was valedictorian of her graduating class of 1954. She then went to Barnes Business School in Denver where she acquired an associate degree in business. Then she came back to Ridgeway and became bookkeeper for C.E. Mills construction company. She married Aaron Kinney on June 17, 1956. They had 2 boys, Rodney Allen and Robert Aaron. They lived in western Colorado ranching and farming until 1978 when they moved to Burwell, Nebraska where they ranched for 5 years. They then moved to Montana for 2 years. After this they moved back to western Colorado where they spent the remainder of their lives. Phyllis worked in retail in western stores along the way and finished her working career at the Busy Corner Market in Olathe, CO.  Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was truly loved and respected by everyone.  She was a person of excellence in character, conduct and everything she did.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Aaron Kinney, son Rod Kinney, brother Harold Caddy, grandson John Justin, and great grandson Patrick Gene Anderson. She is survived by son Rob (Laura) Kinney and granddaughters Kasey Anderson and Sarah Miller and great grandson Dre.

Services will be held at Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 25th, 2020 followed by a potluck at American Legion in Olathe.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Hope West Hospice in Montrose.
