Service Date January 8, 2020

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Crippin Funeral home in Montrose, followed by service at Grand View Cemetery of Montrose, with Pastor Ben Gàrate officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made in Phyllis’ name to Hope West in Montrose.

Phyllis Jean (Downing) Westcott, age 85, of Montrose, passed away Wednesday night, January 1, 2020, at Montrose Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 20, 1934, in Twin Falls, ID, a daughter of the late Harold Downing of Idaho.

Phyllis married Nedwrin Ray Westcott on July 14, 1956.  They were married for 44 years before his death in 2000.

Ray and Phyllis were the proud parents of Benita Gaye Westcott and the first surviving triplets born in New Mexico; Joe, Jess and Jule Westcott.

Phyllis loved to crochet, visit the occasional casinos, and she followed the teachings of Christ.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.

She was a member of the Calvary Chapel of Montrose.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Joe (Glee) Westcott, of Montrose, CO, Jess Westcott of Sutton, AK, and Jule (Irene) Westcott, of Show Low, AZ.  Three Grandchildren, Melody Westcott of Montrose, CO, Kimberly (Jeff) Byrket of Phoenix, AZ., Jule Acum of Sparks, NV, and Four Great Grand Daughters.

She is preceded in death by, her parents Harold and Mary Downing, husband; Nedwrin Ray Westcott, Daughter; Benita Gaye Westcott, grandson; Allan Jones, and Sister; Barbara Cruz.
