Patricia Morris (Prickett)

Patricia Morris, of Montrose passed away peacefully Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.

Patricia was born on October 28, 1931 in Grand Junction, Co to Riley & Grace (Haney) Prickett, Patricia spent her childhood, and attended school in Grand Junction, graduating with the class of 1949. She married Alvin Morris on February 11, 1971 in Ouray, Colorado. Alvin preceded Patricia in death on July 7, 1998 in Montrose.

Patricia was the Montrose County Financial Officer at the Montrose County Courthouse for over 30 years. She was a member of the All Saints Angelican Church in Montrose, and loved her time as a Meals on Wheels Volunteer.

She was known to many as “Grandma Pat” and was a mom and grandma to many. She lived for her children and grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed sewing and making rolls & cookies for others. She babysat her great grandkids, up until the week before her death. She was always a thankful person, full of many hugs to give.

Survivors include her son Richard (Wendy) White of Grand Junction; her daughters Sheri (Bert) Bellgardt of Montrose; Cyndy Bartel of New Castle, Co; as well her sister Helen Schneider of Montrose. Patricia is also survived by 7 beloved grandchildren, and 16 precious great-grandchildren.  Patricia is preceded in death by her parents , her husband Alvin, her sisters, Hester Faussone, Jean Phillips, Ida Mann, Florence Little, and her brother Tom Prickett.

A Memorial Service in loving memory of Patricia will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Montrose Christian Church on Sunnyside, the service will conclude at the church. Memorial Contributions in loving memory of Patricia may be made to Hope West, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Colorado 81402. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Crippin Funeral Home, Montrose, Co. (970) 249-2121.
