Norma “LeAnn” Hammon

June 17, 1953 ~ March 1, 2016

LeAnn Hammon, 62, of Montrose joined the Lord and her soulmate on March 1, 2016 at Montrose Memorial Hospital.

LeAnn was born on June 17, 1953. She was the daughter of Peter “Jake” and Norma “Jean” Jacobson (Stewart). She was born in McCook, Nebraska. She went to Duchene High School and graduated in 1971.  She attended Utah State University and cosmetology school.

She married the love of her life, David William Hammon on December 1, 1978 in Montrose, where they made their home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked for several years as a certified nurse’s aide and cared deeply about her patients!

Surviving family members include their five children, Cody (Heather) Hammon, William (Kate) Hammon, and Cindy (Todd) Sergo, all of Montrose, Kim Hammon of Nashville, TN, and Michelle (J.R.) Evans of St. Petersburg, FL, three brothers R.R.(Bob & Char) Jacobson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ken (Debbie) Jacobson, of Grand Junction, CO, and Thordy (Jana) Jacobson of Montrose, CO. She had 10 wonderful grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A Memorial Service in celebration of LeAnn’s life will be held, Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Calvin Schwartz officiating. Afterward, a graveside service will take place at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. Crippin Funeral Home, Montrose, Colorado is assisting the family.
