Nina Lee Nelson Blackburn of Montrose died Dec. 19, 2021, at her home surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born Feb. 3, 1934 at her family home in Paonia, Colorado.

She married Warren Blackburn Feb. 28, 1954, in Hotchkiss, Colorado. Nina and Warren met at the Bell Creek Dance Hall in Hotchkiss.

She was a loving mother, homemaker, and great cook. She formed many lasting friendships while selling Warren’s honey for years from their house.

She is survived by her husband, Warren; two children, Colleen Heinemann and husband Tom of Centennial; Boyd Blackburn, and wife Liz of Montrose; four grandchildren (Caley Cason, Brandon Blackburn and Ashley, Spencer Heinemann and Hallie and Haley Heinemann) and two great-grandchildren (Mason and Addison Blackburn).

Cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering at a later date for a celebration of life.
