Nancy Carney, 68, was a resident of Montrose, Colorado when her death was
presumed to occur Wednesday November 1, in her home, and to be of a heart
complication.
Born Nancy Claire Wilson on April 2, 1949 in Providence, Rhode Island to parents
Edna and Roy Wilson, eventually taking the last name of future husband, Larry
Carney. She resided mainly in Egypt; Oakcliff, Texas; and Montrose, Colorado. She
had made many friends working at Gibson’s, and later in the Montrose Memorial
Hospital until retiring in early 2017. Nancy enjoyed crocheting for loved ones and the
less fortunate, gardening, and was passionate for reading and movies.
Nancy is survived by son Anthony Carney. Grandsons Jonathon Hutson, Erik
Carney, and Jesse Carney. Great-granddaughter Amethyst Carney-Tonge. She
loved many children as her own, and was lucky enough to be able to experience true
friendship in her short life. To the many that knew her, she will be missed.
Memorial service will be held at Crippin Funeral Home (802 E. Main St., Montrose,
Co.) at 1pm on Friday, 11/10/2017. A pot-luck meal will be held at 2:45 at Grace
Community Church (16731 Woodgate Rd, Montrose, CO).
