Melvin Bruce Webb, age 72, of Montrose, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home. Melvin was born February 2, 1944 to Henry Melvin and Betty Bruce (Poston) Webb in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Following high school, Melvin served his country in the United States Navy. He married Judy F. Coker on November 19, 1966. Melvin had resided in California for many years, prior to moving to Montrose to spend their retirement years. He was a volunteer for Life Choices Family Resource Center and a member of Victory Baptist Church
Surviving family members include his wife, Judy of the family home; daughters Christy Webb, of Aspen, Colorado, Sharon Levine of Tacoma, Washington, Cheryl Bristol of Silverthorne, Colorado; one brother David Webb of Lake Shore, California; three sisters Saundra of Missouri, Donna Webb of Ventura, California, Sonia Webb of Eagle, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. with a Funeral Service starting at 10:30A.M. at Victory Baptist Church on North Townsend in Montrose. The service will conclude at the Church with a private family burial to take place at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Horsefly Volunteer Fire Protection or Life Choices Family Resource Center. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, in Montrose is assisting the family.
