Maxine Eggleston, died September 19, 2014 at her residence in Montrose at the age of 85. She was born March 19, 1929 to Wenzel George and Sarah Elizabeth (McRae) Limberger in Durango, Co.  She spent her childhood and received her education in Durango.  Maxine worked as a waitress at the Mandarin Restaurant in Durango.  She married Charles F. Eggleston in 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He preceded her in death on October 20, 1990 in Montrose.

Early on they moved frequently, and resided in Libby, Montana where Maxine helped found the Lincoln County Health line for battered women and opened her home of anyone in need.  Years later they moved to Telluride, Co., where they resided for 14 years and Maxine worked at a dry goods store called Pekkarine. She was a Past Noble Grand for Crescent Rebecca lodge #39 in Telluride.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at Christ Church of the Valley on Hillcrest and Main Street in Montrose.  The service will conclude at the Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
