Mary Elizabeth Black (8/28/1928-10/28/2023)

Mary was born on August 30th, 1928, on a ranch outside of Craig, Colorado. Mary was one of fourteen siblings. Mary met the love of her life and married Neil Black in 1960. Mary’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. Mary was known as a “Mother to many” and treasured her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. During Mary’s adult years, Mary became an avid bowler. Her competitive nature followed her when she and her husband Neil moved to Montrose, Colorado in the 1980’s. Mary was an active member of The United Methodist Church and maintained her beliefs that “actions speak louder than words”. Mary passed peacefully on October 28th, 2023, in her sleep, with family and friends at bedside. Mary is survived by her son Carl Black, daughters- Dorothy Langstaff (Danny), Jett Black, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and nearly a 100 nieces and nephews.
