Marvin M. Howze

Marvin M. Howze, age 85, of Montrose, Colorado died March 11, 2014 at Montrose Memorial Hospital. Marvin is survived by his wife, Beverly Howze; his sons Marvin Howze Jr., and David Howze; one daughter, Sally Stigall; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with two on the way. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dianna Eddy.
He proudly served his country as a United States Marine, Anti-Tank Company, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division in operations against organized enemy forces in Southern and Central Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he spent 20 years in law enforcement as a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy and retired as a Detective Sgt.
Marvin enjoyed flying fixed wing aircraft before he joined the Marines. He also enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities. Marvin was a businessman in Montrose. A Funeral Service in celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Welch officiating. Graveside Service with Military Honors will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose, where he will be laid to rest.
