Martha Sue (Fynn) Miller

March 21, 1948-February 12, 2021

Mom passed away on February 12, 2021.  She was at her home and surrounded by family.  She suffered with multiple health issues, including Alzheimer’s.  Her body was just so tired.  God needed this angel to come home.

There will be no service in honor of her wishes that we all celebrate her life and continue to live our own to the absolute fullest.  She does not want us being anguished at her passing but instead reminiscing and sharing our love and memories of her.

Mom loved the San Juan mountains.  She loved Montrose.  She wanted to be here when it was her time to go home.  Julianna Tanner, her oldest child & daughter, made that dream a reality.  Juli stayed here and cared for our mother for the last 5 years of her life.  Juli is an amazing and strong daughter, sister, partner and mother.  She took incredible care of our mom and sacrificed so much in order to make moms wishes would come true.  We thank you Juli for being so generous and loving with our beautiful mom.

She is also survived by her daughter Lara Ellis, daughter Annalissa Close and son John Dahl.  She loved like children her childrens spouses, Kevin Gill, David Ellis, David Close and Elizabeth Dahl.  She also dearly loved her granddaughter Brittany’s spouse, Justin Fleming.  Her sisters: Jane Janovyak and Muffet Von Beethoven live on as well.

She has 13 grandchildren: (Juli) Jacob Dahl, Brittany Fleming, (Lara) Sharayah Ellis, Gabriel Ellis, Larissa Ellis, Dalton Ellis, (Annalissa) Andrew Close, Danielle Close, Charlotte Close, (John) Meaghan Dahl, Morgan Dahl, Logan Dahl, Riley Dahl.

She has 2 great grandchildren: (Brittany) Xander Fleming, Xane Fleming.

Our mom wanted a large family more than anything else in this world and she got exactly that.  Her only sadness was that we all did not live closer to one another and her.  She was an incredible mother who taught us all to love the world with our eyes open and without prejudice.  She was the best Grandma anyone could ever ask for.  She was always open hearted with anyone who came into her life, so there are many who felt they were a part of our family.

She reunited in heaven with her husband David Miller, her mother Dorothy Fynn, her father John Fynn, her twins who passed before they were born and many other beloved family members and pets.

Our mom loved animals.  We are sure she is excited to be reunited with her Princess, Puppy, Missy, Elmo and Stitch.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you direct donations to Oh, Be Dogful Rescue in Crested Butte,CO at:  www.ohbedogfulrescueandsanctuary.com

They are wonderful and took in mom’s precious pups when she was no longer able to care for them.  They lived out the remainder of their lives there and they were well loved.

Thank you to Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose, Co for laying our mother to rest peacefully.  An extra special thank you to Daryl Pridy for the extra care he took with us during this most difficult time.
