Marlene A. Fister, age 63, of Montrose, Colorado passed away December 27, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center in Grand Junction, CO.  Marlene was born May 15, 1953 to Leon and Alice (Bowens) Holbrook in Palmer, Alaska.  As a young child, her family moved to Colorado ,  She spent her childhood and received her education in Olathe.  Marlene met her husband, Rocky.  They were married October 3, 1970 in Buena Vista, CO.  and were

Marlene was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family. She loved arts and crafts, along with the outdoors.  Fishing and hunting over the years was always something she enjoyed doing.

Surviving family members include her beloved husband, Rocky, of Olathe; one son Andrew “Andy” (Jennifer) Fister of Olathe, daughter Amy (Terry) Ray of Montrose; three brothers Ronnie Holbrook, Garth Holbrook and Lance Holbrook; two sisters Lana Soell, Melanie Baysinger;  ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Other family members include, Joanie and Glenn Fister and Glenda Kevin Jones, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.   She will be greatly missed  Marlene was preceded in death by her son Christopher Fister, her parents Leon and Alice Holbrook, brother Dean Holbrook and a sister Delores Avila.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Marlene’s life on Sunday, New Year’s Day, January 1st at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Community Church on Woodgate Road in Montrose.  A reception will follow the service.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose, is assisting the family.
