Marjorie F Kirby

Marjorie F Kirby passed away in her sleep October 31, 2018. Marjorie resided at Heidi’s Chateau for the last two and half years. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean E. Kirby Sr. and Delbert Kiser. She is survived by her two children, daughter Kathy Nelson and husband Duane Smelser from Montrose, son Dean Kirby and wife Ariane of Westminister; her sister Elaine Marks of Blue, Arizona, sister Betty Kidd of Fruita, Colorado, a niece Pam Jenkins and husband Marvin of Fruita, Colorado & Diane and husband Slade of Grand Junction, Colorado.  She also had 3 grandchildren, Tim Nelson of Lake Jackson, Texas, Shellee Casiello, of Norfolk, Virginia, Nikki Kell, of Westminster, Colorado.  She had eleven great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marjorie was born May 31, 1926 in Las Animas Colorado. Her family moved to northern Colorado where she resided until she married and started her own family. She started painting later in life and loved fishing, spending time painting and taking photographs of sunsets and she also enjoyed singing.  We will miss her sense of humor and laughter.

Marjorie joined the Christ’s Church of the Valley when she moved to Montrose in 2015. The memorial service will be announced at a later day.   In lieu of flowers, please donate to Montrose Hope West Hospice, 725 South 4^th Street, Montrose, CO 81401.
