Margaret Kathleen Hilton Green passed away at the age of 75 on January 7th, 2019 at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose.
Kathy was born on April 13th, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kenneth W. Hilton Sr. and Margaret Farrar Hilton. She attended Olympus High School in Salt Lake and graduated in 1961. During that time, she met Dewayne E. Green at a bowling alley where she worked and they were married on June 1st, 1961, just a few weeks after her high school graduation. Kathy and Dewayne lived in Salt Lake for 4 years and then moved to Montrose in 1965, where she remained until her death. Together they raised 4 children; Diane Green McFarlin (Scott), Christine Green Terrell (Chuck), Bryan Green (Melissa) and Darrin Green (Stephanie).
Kathy drove Bus 13 for the Montrose County School District for 6 years until she became the Principal’s Secretary at Montrose High School. She loved working at the high school and retired in 2000 after 20 years there. She loved being an incredible grandma to her 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Kathy was always caught up in a new project and loved being creative. She enjoyed quilting, basketmaking, ceramics, photography, fishing, sewing, and reading.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Kenneth W. Hilton Jr. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dewayne, her four children, 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations are sent to the Montrose Animal Shelter (City of Montrose).
