Margaret Knob Heinz Ashburn

June 22, 1931 – January 11, 2020

Margaret Heinz, age 88, passed away January 11, 2020 at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, CO. She was a homemaker.

She was born in Sterling, CO to parents Francis and Carrie Ulrich, 1 of 8 children. Margaret’s mother, Carrie, died in childbirth and four children were placed in foster homes, including Margaret. Margaret, her sister Marie, and two brothers, George and Joe, were adopted by Mike and Jenny Brown in Delta, CO in 1943. Margaret married Edward Heinz and together they had one child. Ed passed away in 1978. Margaret married Robert Ashburn of Cedaredge, CO in 1999. They traveled and visited family for several years, also living in Texas and then returned to the Nucla/Naturita area. Robert passed away July 24, 2019. Margaret loved her family and friends and loved spending time with them. She will be missed.

Margaret is survived by her children; Genevieve (Gary) Blecha, Frederick Knob, Michael (Agnes) Knob, Frances (Greg) Pink, Benny (VIrginia) Knob,and Greg (Brandy) Heinz, Seven grandchildren, one sister, two brothers and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands, and her daughter Gracie Standish.

Services will be held at St. Michael’s Church on Sat. Jan. 18, 2020 at 10am with inurnment afterward at Delta Memorial Cemetery.
