Marcella (Marcy) A. Triplett passed away peacefully at the Homestead on March 12 with her husband by her side. She was born and raised in a rural farming area near the small town of Rolfe, Iowa. Parents were Charles and Agnes (Hotovec) Zeman, she being the youngest of six children and the only girl in the family. The five boys, Kenny, Marvin, Arnie, Bernie and Allen and her parents all preceded her in death.

Surviving are husband Tom, children Linda (Joe) Sullivan of  Montrose, Lori (Lynn) Stauffer of Loveland, Co., David Triplett of Joplin, MO., Kristal (Kenny) Schott of Pocahontas, Iowa, Judy (John) Lorenz of Loveland, Co., Thomas (Becky) Triplett of  Bloomington, Indiana, Steve Triplett of Commerce City, CO in addition to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graduation from high school was in 1956 which was a small rural country school with thirteen in her graduation class. Tom Triplett was in the graduation class the year before hers and they were married in December of 1956. They celebrated 59 years of marriage.

In 1961 they left the cold winters of Iowa and moved to the warm summers of Phoenix, AZ and remained in Phoenix for 15 years before relocating to Montrose, CO.

She raised the children while also enjoying being a professional seamstress from the Phoenix home.  She then worked as a bookkeeper for the family Power Equipment business.  In Montrose she worked in Real Estate, Medical Transcribing at MMH and after 18 years, retired as the secretary to the President from what is now Wells Fargo Bank. She enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities including golf and hunting caches with the GPS and the many people she met while traveling in their motorhome.

A Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary Catholic Church on Thurs, March 17, 10:00am.  The vigil, which is a time of sharing memories and stories, is Wed. March 16, 7:00pm at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.  All are welcome to both of these. Her wish was to be cremated and she will reside in Grand View Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Montrose Botanical Society, P.O. Box 323, Montrose 81402 where Tom & Marcy enjoyed sitting after their wheelchair “walks” together, St. Mary Church, 1855 St. Mary’s Dr., Montrose, Co 81401, or Homestead where Marcy resided for the last four years, 1819 Pavilion, Montrose, Co 81401.  Thank you to the staff that cared for her.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose, is assisting the family.
