Louella (Lou) L. Dowell (Putney) was born on February 22,1950 to Mr. & Mrs. Harold Putney Sr. She graduated from Nucla High School in 1970. Lou married William (Bill) A. Dowell on August 22, 1970 in Montrose. They have two children: Keith and wife Kellie of Montrose, CO and Denise of Windsor, CO.
She is survived by her children, 1 sister, 6 brothers, and many other relatives and close friends.
In 2008 Lou retired from work at various skilled nursing facilities as a Certified Nursing Aid (CNA).
Her Hobbies included needle point, embroidery, reading books, she loved western movies and western TV shows, and loved Listening to Elvis sing. She enjoyed gospel and classic country music
The Family would like to thank HopeWest Hospice, VOA Valley Manor for her excellent care for the last years of her life.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21st from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.
A private burial will take place at Grand View Cemetery @10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
