Linda Jane Carpenter, age 75, passed away May 25, 2023 at Valley Manor Nursing Center. Linda was born August 15, 1947 in Greenville, MS to Asher and Daisy (Howerton) Rankin. She worked as an Activity Director at Valley Manor Nursing Center until her retirement.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.W. “Boots” Carpenter, and three sisters Clovis Johansen, Velma Moon, and Billie Sink. She is survived by her son, Robert E. Stout of Montrose, along with three daughters, Melissa Carpenter Wasson of Greenville, MS, Amanda (Greg) Hasty of Vicksburg, MS, Deborah A. Gately of Little Rock, AR, and a sister Rhonda Hyle of Montrose. Linda is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Holly Ingebo, Matthew Floriani, Jacob Morgan, Sarah Morgan, and Sabrina Cora. She also leaves 9 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Crippin Funeral Home. There will be a private ceremony held by the children. The family would like to thank the staff of Valley Manor Nursing Center for the wonderful care provided their mother.
