Leroy C. Kiser, 79, of Montrose, CO went to be with the Lord on January 28th, 2016.
Leroy was born on April 15th, 1936 in Fittstown, Oklahoma to Cecil and Louise (Dotson) Kiser. During his childhood he spent time in both Colorado and Louisiana. He attended Montrose High School, Class of 1955. Leroy was stationed in Germany while serving his country in the Army.
Leroy made his home in Montrose, CO and started his professional career. His company, Kiser Construction, remodeled several local businesses and built many custom homes in the area. Leroy was a man of great faith. He was a founding member of Foothills (Victory) Baptist Church and played an instrumental role in the construction of the church. His special interests included reading, following politics, hunting, horseback riding, and camping with his family. Leroy was a lifetime member of the NRA.
After retiring in 1998, Leroy loved being able to spend more time outdoors, landscaping around his home, and hiking the Uncompahgre Plateau, specifically Hank’s Valley, with his treasured four legged friend, Buffie. He enjoyed time spent with friends, relatives, and his children that would visit from out of town. During the last few years of his life he looked forward to having coffee with friends, his Granddaughter, Qualene Coddington, and step-daughter, Marylin.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Evelyn; his children, Paul Kiser of Grand Junction, Cynthia Kiser of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Nathan (Connie) Kiser of Heber, Utah; his stepchildren, George (Nelda) Ancell of Bullhead City, AZ, Robert (Mary) Ancell, of Las Vegas, NV, Rhonda Krebs, of Tarboro, NC , and Marylin (Kent) Chuchuru of Montrose, CO; his brother Dick (Nadine) Kiser of Sun Lakes, Arizona; nephew, Greg (Bonnie) Kiser, niece, Kim (Mark) Rohn; 16 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Donna (Roberts) Kiser. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Private Burial will take place at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.crippinfuneralhome.com.
