Lawrence Everett Flick, age 89, passed away at home on June 25, 2018. Lawrence was born on April 17, 1929 to Louis Carl and Katy (Cowan) Flick in Valedon, New Mexico. He spent most of his childhood in Dos Cabezas, Arizona. On Sept. 5, 1959 Lawrence married the love of his life, Laura Catherine McCarrier, in Silverton. They celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage together.
Lawrence worked first as a hard rock miner in both Arizona and in Colorado, and later ran his own business as a carpenter in the Montrose area. He loved nature and his family, and spent many fine days on the porch of his beloved home at Billy Creek enjoying both.
Lawrence is survived by his wife and soulmate Laura of Montrose; his son Daniel Flick of Montrose, daughters Nancy (David) Weirich of Weston, Florida and Mary (Michael McKell) Flick of Port Townsend, Washington, and two wonderful grandchildren, Fallon and Dexter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl, and sisters Marie and Virginia.
He will be remembered by family and friends as a quiet, gentle, loving man and will be truly missed.
