Larry Wayne Brown, 52, passed away October 2, 2017 after a lifetime battle with diabetes. He was born in Montrose, CO. on 14th September, 1965, the son of Wayne M. and Beverly Harris Brown.
He always had an active interest in livestock and with his sister had a small herd of sheep by the time he graduated high school. He was an 8 year member of 4-H and a three year member of FFA. He won the sheep showmanship award at the county fair at age nine. When the family switched to cattle he had to be where the activity was, He was happiest at the summer pasture with family and hunting and camping. Larry enjoyed Lake Powell outings with family and friends.
He liked to do welding and made gifts and repair and build machinery. Larry enjoyed cooking and did the family canning. Larry worked for City Market for 24 years.
He married Nancy Shade Bishop on 13 June 1998, on Hastings Mesa. A daughter, Aubrey Lyn, was born to this union.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter Aubrey (Jordan); grandson Mayson; two stepsons Anthony and Tim Jaques; six step-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Don and Barbara Blowers; parents Wayne M. and Beverly Harris Brown; sister Susan (Kevin) Asnicar and children Tyler and Tanner; aunts, uncles and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother and father-in-law.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Montrose Christian Church, with burial to follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. A potluck reception with snack & finger food will follow the burial in the Fellowship Hall at the Montrose Christian Church. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
