Thank you so much for the obituary and beautiful tribute to Steve\'s life. As a friend from high school, I am afraid I didn\'t know him as an adult - didn\'t share in his love and engagement with family, friends, and nature. I did know Steve to be a steady, funny, smart, and caring person. Always a gentleman and a good friend. He was patient - my father would call him \'too-tall\' Tilton whenever he came to our house and Steve would just smile... Also, hands down, Steve\'s truck was the best vehicle parked in the Alton High School pit. Steve was my very good friend and he holds a special place in my memories of growing up in Alton. I so sorry to learn of his death and send my best wishes to his family. Sarah Goodwin
