Kelila Michelle Slate, age 39, passed away at her home in Montrose on Sept. 6, 2018. Funeral services will be held at Rosemont Baptist Church, Montrose, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September. 15. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday evening, September 14 at Crippin Funeral Home.
Kelila was born Aug. 30, 1978 in Big Spring, Texas. She has been a resident of Montrose, CO, for 20 years. She taught many piano students over the years at her studio “The Pink Piano.” Each student was special to her. She held yearly recitals which were always enjoyed by the community. Kelila served as pianst for Rosemont Baptist Church, and was a part of the fellowship at Grace Community Church where she has served on the worship team. In years past she enjoyed dancing in several forms including ballet and performed locally at concerts. Kelila was totally devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a positive, loving influence on many lives. She enjoyed a host of friends and loved each one dearly. She was loved and cherished by many in return. Even through her pain she was uplifting to others. She loved well…her family, her friends, her beloved Danny and most of all her Lord.
