Montrose – Western Slope resident, June C. Raish, died Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her home in Montrose, CO.
June C. (Anderson) Raish was born in Eckert, CO on December 2, 1932, the only daughter of O.T. (Tom) and Rose Belle (Tennison) Anderson. In the early years she joined her parents at dances all around Delta County. Some of her fondest memories included Fourth of July picnics on the Grand Mesa. In 1949, June’s family moved south to Montrose and she graduated from Montrose High School in 1950.
June met her husband to be, Carl Raish Jr. at a dance in Ridgway, CO and they were married on January 14, 1950 in Aztec, NM. June spent her life in and around farming and ranching and was a proud member of the Montrose Cattlewomen’s Association (Cow Belles).
June is preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents O.T. and Rose Anderson, her brother Newman Anderson, her Sister-in-law Thelma Anderson, and Daughter-in-law Pam Raish.
June is survived by her four sons, Tom Raish of Olathe, CO; Fred “Fritz” (Cindy) Raish of Somerset, CO; Don (Ann) Raish of Montrose, CO; and Scott (Cari) Raish of Waverly, OH; seven grandchildren, Ranae, Katy, Fred, Heather, Ashlyn, Marrissa, and Spencer; six Great-Grandchildren, Autumn, Traelyn, Kaylese, Mason, Carl, and Elijah; her brother Larry Anderson of Carterville, MO; two nieces and three nephews.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate June’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Crippin Funeral Home with Paul Nystrom Officiating. Interment will be held in Cedar Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband who preceded her in death on January 23, 1998.
Memorial Contributions may be made in June’s name to HopeWest Hospice at 725 South 4th Street, Montrose, CO 81401. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
