Judy Patterson passed away March 2, 2025, at her home in Montrose, Colorado.
Judy was born in Ashland, Ohio. The daughter of John and Margorie Rafeld. She met her husband, Bill Patterson, at the tender age of 13 at the Pony Barn during the county fair. Not allowed to date until she turned sixteen, Bill waited patiently and came to the house on the day of her 16th birthday and the rest is loving history. Bill and Judy were married for almost 66 years, exemplifying the essence of true love for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Judy had a long business career while raising her five children. Bill and Judy started their business, TEI Rock Drills, in 1980, which has proudly grown into a successful international business. Everyone that worked with Judy knew that she was the backbone and heart of TEI.
Judy is survived by her husband, Bill, her brother Dick, her children John (Lisa), Glenn (Debby), Joe (Becky), Sue (Dave), and Ed (Chawntee). Her grandchildren are Alex (Jennifer), Paige (Adam), Charlie (Lilly), Samantha (Taylor), Lance, Tessa, Max (Natalie), Zach (Lauren), Savanna (Nate), Cheyenne, Domonic, Jazzmyn, and Andrew(deceased) and (25) Great Grandchildren.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Open House at Bill and Judy’s home on Saturday, March 8th from 2:00 – 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to HopeWest Hospice in Montrose, Colorado.
We know Judy is running barefoot in the fields beside her dad, her beautiful curls flowing behind her, and loving being with her mom and Grandma Bertha and her beloved friend Myra and brothers Roger and Ted again.
