Judith Ann Miller

March 3, 1961 ~ August 7, 2015

Judith Ann Miller (nee Peloza) lost her brief struggle with cancer August 7, 2015. Judi, as she was to known to everyone, was born in Chicago on March 3, 1961. After high school, Judi went to work at a variety of jobs until she began her career as a traffic manager for NYK lines and then Japan lines. Her stories of her life with the Japanese managers of the two shipping lines provided rich fodder for stories

with which she entertained and amused her friends and family. Judi’s wit could turn any situation into a story, the retelling of which never ceased to bring smiles to those around her.

She was a dedicated servant of others and was chairperson of the Parish Life committee at Zion Lutheran church for many years. She was also the West District chair of both Scholarship and Youth Activities committees of the Colorado State Elks Association, in which capacity she lobbied diligently to ensure students from the Western Slope received as much consideration as other students in the state.

She moved to Montrose in 1997, to be close to her parents who had moved here years earlier.  She founded her own business, Dunham International, which was an import/export consulting firm, and helped her clients move their product in from Japan and Korea and ship them all over the world.  Judi married the love of her life May 16, 2010.

She is survived by her mother, Rosemarie Peloza; her sister, Cathy Peloza; her husband, Lyle Miller; and her daughters Jessica and Jennifer Dunham. She touched hundreds of lives in her too short life and her presence will be missed by all.

A memorial service in celebration of Judi’s life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 701 S. Junction, Montrose, at 1 pm on Saturday, August 15. The service will conclude at the church.  A luncheon at the Montrose Elks lodge will begin at 2:30 pm.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado is assisting the family.
