Juanita Mae Harris, lifetime Montrose resident, passed away May 7, 2017 following a brief illness, at the age of 89. Juanita was born July 11, 1927 to Leslie and Matilda (Bellgardt) Fales born in Montrose and resided on Bostwick Park in Montrose. She was raised and received her education in Montrose.
Juanita married Gerald B. Harris on June 12, 1970 in Montrose and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1988. She was previously married to Howard D. Aldrich in Montrose who passed away April 6, 1968.
Juanita was a longtime member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montrose, and enjoyed her Friday morning bible study each week. Spending time with her family and involvement in her church was very important to her.
Surviving family members include her three daughters, Barbara Bell of Fort Collins, CO., Beverly (Michael) Murray and Patty (Rocky) Gabriel both of Montrose; her sister Shirley Markley of Prescott Valley, AZ; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, three brothers, Homer, Earl and Carl Fales, and one sister, Glady Carnal.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Juanita’s life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 N. 2nd Street in Montrose. Burial will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, West of Montrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 North 2nd Street, Montrose, 81401. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Montrose Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care she received during her recent stay and also Heidi’s Chateau for their loving care for the past six months. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
